Laurys Duno D Pacheco

Since the age of nine, I have felt a deep calling for education, which led me to help children in my community learn mathematics. I was born in the South of the American continent, specifically in the city of Maracaibo, known as the land of the beloved sun, because the climate is very hot for most of the year. It is located in the state of Zulia, Venezuela. At the age of twelve, I began providing values training within my community with the help of my father, my mother, and members of my church, thus strengthening my commitment as an educator to the holistic development of children and youth.

At the twenty-one, I founded, together with my family and a dedicated team of men and women, the organization Renacseniv Cabimas in Venezuela, which continues to be active to this day, promoting education, values and community leadership for the benefit of children and families.

I am a Petroleum Engineer with a Masters degree in Geology and Project Management, and over twenty-five years of experience in the oil industry, specializing in water reservoir analysis and natural gas projects. This experience has allowed me to participate in international conferences and seminars, as well as publish research in globally recognized scientific journals. All of this motivates me today to inspire new generations to pursue the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, known by its acronym STEAM.

I currently reside in the state of Oregon, USA, where I have successfully integrated my knowledge in engineering, education, and human development. I hold a Degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies and am a certified Master Trainer. I also mentor educators in Oregon, strengthening their skills in leadership, effective teaching, and personal and professional development.

I am a certified member of Maxwell Leadership, which has allowed me to impact the lives of my students, who are professionals and teachers at the local, community, and global levels, through leadership and personal growth programs. In 2026, I lead two organizations, including La Cabaña de la Abuela Childcare and Preschool, where I dedicate myself daily to being an Early Childhood Education Teacher alongside my family. Together, we run the program every day. My husband is a passionate teacher, and my mother loves to cook delicious meals with fresh vegetables and fruits. I have provided employment opportunities for women who offer early childhood education services in the Washington County, Oregon community. It is a bilingual early childhood education program in Beaverton, where I implement innovative STEM-based pedagogical practices for children from working families, as well as migrant families. I have also led "Parent Cafes," spaces where I share strategies and tools for family self-care and educator well-being.

In collaboration with Portland University, I have established partnerships offering trauma-informed training this year, 2026, aimed at strengthening the emotional and professional skills of educators.

My other organization, Estilo Vida Latina LLC, helps me share so much knowledge with the community. It is dedicated to providing training, conferences, mentorship, coaching, and consulting services to businesses and professionals in project management and strategic leadership. Through its training programs, this organization has empowered Latina women, educators, and entrepreneurs in their professional development. I have designed and delivered these programs both locally and internationally in countries like Venezuela, Mexico, Uruguay, and Colombia.

At the end of 2025, I was able to work as an advisor and educator for clean energy programs supported in the state of Oregon, contributing to sustainable development and the promotion of eco-innovative educational initiatives.

Within the local church known as Village Beaverton Church, I have had the opportunity to apply my knowledge by supporting the Childrens Ministry, promoting a holistic values-based education within the community.

As a professional with a solid background in education, engineering, project management, community leadership, and early childhood education, I see this opportunity as a unique interaction between my technical experience, my passion for educational equity, and my deep commitment to the well-being of families in the state of Oregon.

I have over 25 years of experience as a project manager and technical consultant in geosciences and project leadership. Combined with my current certifications, this combination of skills has allowed me to design and deliver training tailored to diverse cultural and educational contexts, integrating analysis, strategic planning, and impact assessment.

My profile demonstrates a proven ability to work ethically, respectfully, and professionally, with an emphasis on respecting cultural diversity, alongside multidisciplinary teams, building community partnerships, and developing practical and inclusive solutions that address the real needs of diverse populations. I am currently open to continuous learning and implementation, as well as forging partnerships, as part of my ongoing commitment to excellence and lifelong learning. I am confident that my experience, holistic perspective, and skills in assessment, training, and community leadership will allow me to approach a world of knowledge with humility and make a significant contribution to the United States of America as a Latina.
